Douglas Steven Massey is an American sociologist, born October 5, 1952, who is a professor of sociology at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and an adjunct professor of sociology at the University of Pennsylvania. He specializes in the sociology of immigration and has written extensively on the effects of residential segregation on the Black American underclass in the United States. He has served as president of the Population Association of America, the American Sociological Association and the American Academy of Political and Social Science, and is a co-editor of the Annual Review of Sociology.
