Bromance

Cultural and Socialization Institutions

A bromance is a very close, non sexual relationship between two or more men, marked by a level of emotional intimacy and homosocial bonding that exceeds an ordinary friendship. The concept became prominent in the early 21st century, reflecting a broader shift in Western society toward greater openness about close male bonds. The equivalent relationship between women is sometimes called a womance.
