Ronald F. Inglehart was an American political scientist, born in 1934, specializing in comparative politics. He directed the World Values Survey, a global network of social scientists carrying out representative national surveys of the publics of over 100 societies across all six inhabited continents, containing ninety percent of the world's population, with its first wave of surveys carried out in 1981 and its latest completed in 2019. From 2010 he was also co-director of the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research at the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow and St Petersburg. He died on May 8, 2021.
