Postcolonial Theory

Theorists examining the cultural, political and epistemic legacies of colonialism, the conditions of formerly colonized societies and peoples, and the ways Western knowledge and institutions have represented and governed the non-Western world. This group gathers the founding and later theorists of postcolonial and decolonial thought, including subaltern studies, the critique of orientalism, the analysis of hybridity and cultural identity after empire, and the concept of coloniality as a structure that persists after formal colonial rule ends.
