Karel Kosik (1926-2003) was a Czech Marxist philosopher and literary theorist best known for Dialectics of the Concrete (1963), which reinterprets Karl Marx's ideas in light of Martin Heidegger's phenomenology. His later essays offer a sharp critique of modern society from a leftist but not strictly Marxist position.
