Gyorgy Lukacs

Gyorgy Lukacs was a Hungarian Marxist philosopher, literary historian, literary critic and aesthetician regarded as one of the founders of Western Marxism, an interpretive tradition that broke from Soviet Marxist orthodoxy. He developed the theory of reification and extended Karl Marx's theory of class consciousness, while also working as a philosopher of Leninism who organized Vladimir Lenin's own revolutionary practice into a formal theory of vanguard-party revolution.
