Paul A. Baran

Paul Alexander Baran was an American Marxian economist. In 1951 he was promoted to full professor at Stanford University and became the only tenured Marxist teaching economics in the United States until his death in 1964. He wrote The Political Economy of Growth in 1957, and later co-authored with Paul Sweezy the economics text Monopoly Capital, published posthumously in 1966.
