Alexander Bogdanov, born Alexander Malinovsky (1873-1928), was a Russian and later Soviet physician, philosopher, science fiction writer and Bolshevik revolutionary. A polymath, he pioneered the medical practice of blood transfusion and, through his theory of tektology, made contributions later recognized as important to general systems theory and cybernetics.
