Emma Goldman was a Russian-born anarchist revolutionary, political activist and writer who became a leading figure in the development of anarchist political philosophy in North America and Europe during the first half of the twentieth century. She lectured and wrote widely on anarchism, women's rights and free speech, and her ideas helped shape the anarchist movement of her era on both sides of the Atlantic.
