All Marxist And Critical Theory

The broad family of social theory descended from Karl Marx's analysis of capitalism, class and historical materialism, spanning from Marx's own contemporaries through the Frankfurt School's critical theory, structuralist and autonomist reworkings of Marxism, and the many revolutionary, communist and anarchist movements that took Marxist or closely related radical political economy as their starting point. This tradition is unusually large among this atlas's sociology theorists, so its members are organized into six child groups below by sub-tradition (classical Marxism, Frankfurt School critical theory, Western and structuralist Marxism, Leninism and revolutionary socialism, anarchism and libertarian socialism, and autonomist and council communism) rather than listed flat on this page.
