Charles Bettelheim

Charles Bettelheim was a French Marxian economist and historian who founded the Center for the Study of Modes of Industrialization at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. He served as an economic adviser to several developing country governments during the period of decolonization and was considered one of the most visible Marxist thinkers in the capitalist world, influential in France's New Left as well as in Spain, Italy, Latin America and India.
