Audre Lorde

Audre Lorde was an American writer, professor, philosopher, intersectional feminist, poet and civil rights activist who described herself as a Black, lesbian, feminist, socialist, mother, warrior and poet. Her work argued against ranking different forms of oppression against one another, insisting instead that movements for liberation had to address race, gender, sexuality and class together. That argument became a foundational reference point for later intersectional feminist theory.
