Edvard Kardelj

Edvard Kardelj, who also used the pseudonyms Bevc, Sperans and Kristof, was a Yugoslav politician and economist. A leading member of the Communist Party of Slovenia before the Second World War, he led the Liberation Front of the Slovenian People and served as a Slovene Partisan during the war, then became a federal political leader of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, leading the Yugoslav delegation in peace talks with Italy over the Julian March border dispute.
