Azfar Hussain

Azfar Hussain is a Bangladeshi-American theorist, critic, poet, translator and public intellectual who writes in both Bengali and English, an associate professor of interdisciplinary studies at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, vice-president of the Global Center for Advanced Studies, and summer distinguished professor of English and humanities at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He has published hundreds of academic, popular and creative pieces on Native American poetics, postmodern theory, Marxist political economy and the study of globalization and imperialism, and has translated Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Stephane Mallarme and others into Bengali as well as Kabirs lyrics and Faiz Ahmad Faizs poems into English.
