All Ecological, Evolutionary and Materialist Anthropologists

Anthropologists who explain cultural differences by technology, environment, population and the organization of production, from theories of cultural evolution through cultural ecology and cultural materialism to Marxist anthropology and the study of peasants. A theorist belongs here when the cited article ties the person to ecological anthropology, cultural evolution, cultural materialism or Marxist perspectives. It excludes the symbolic anthropologists, who read culture as meaning rather than adaptation.
